HISTORY OF MUĞLA
The history of Mugla and its highlights date back to 3000 BC. It is said that in 2500 years the Luvies settled in this region. Upon the destruction of the Hittite Empire by civil war and power quarrels, the Kingdom of Frikia ruled this region. With the collapse of the Frikia State, the region was conquered by the Kingdom of Lydia. The residents of the Aegean islands were set up in Dor Sites on the shores of this region. Persian King Kiros, in 6th century B.C., it destroyed the Lydian State and occupied this region. After the First World War, before Lausanne, 92% of Muğla was Turkish and 7% was Greek. With the Treaty of Lausanne, Greeks were sent to Greece.
Ulu Mosque, Kurşunlu Mosque, Sheikh Mosque, Pazaryeri Mosque, Firuz Bey Mosque; Ahmed Gazi Madrasah, Beçin Castle, Bodrum Castle, Keramos Castle, Mozule Monument (Mausoleum), Theater, Agora, Mars worship and church are the most ancient works in Bodrum. Myndos city ruins, Knidos town ruins, Amos city ruins and Ruins ruins are also worth to see.
