HISTORY OF AYDIN

This region hosted Phrygia, Lydia, Persia, Roman and Byzantine, Seljuks between 1171-1270, Menteşeoğulları between 1270-1307, Aydınoğulları between 1307-1390, and Ottoman period between 1390-1922. During the World World I, the Greeks invaded Germencik and Incirliova on 26 May and Aydin on 27 May 1919.
